This Saturday: 4th annual Outdoor Chemistry Magic Show at Carleton University

MESSAGE sent on behalf of CarletonU Chemistry Dept:

We are writing to invite everyone in your school community to our 4th annual Outdoor Chemistry Magic Show at Carleton University. This annual event is part of Science Rendezvous, a national one-day celebration of science with the goal of inspiring Canada's youth to explore and appreciate science.

The show is this Saturday (May 9th) at Carleton University. Below is a description of the show and the details. A flyer that you can distribute as you see fit (email to teachers, parents, etc., post on Twitter and Facebook) is also attached. Please note that our feedback indicates that most visitors hear about this event through schools so we do genuinely appreciate your efforts to help promote this educational, fun, and free event.

The one-hour chemistry magic show is filled with amazing glow in the dark substances, fantastic colour changes, spontaneous combustion reactions, fluorescent minerals, and much more. In addition, families can get their hands dirty with hands-on activities making slime and using liquid nitrogen to make real ice cream. They can also learn about pleasant and not so pleasant smells and the chemistry of wine and chocolate, as well as see some our demonstrations up close.
